Ingredients for homemade Hollandaise sauce
- 4 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon water
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
While the butter is melting, fill the bottom of a double boiler with water, bring the water to a gentle simmer and in the top of the double boiler whisk the egg yolks, water and lemon juice until combine.
Add the hot melted butter to the egg mixture spoon by spoon and keep whisking.
Continue whisking until the hollandaise is smooth and thick enough then whisk in the salt and remove from heat.
now your silky and smooth Hollandaise sauce is ready to enjoy.
