I'm sure you are looking for a recipe for homemade doughnuts that are soft and sweet. Making doughnuts might look a little difficult but believe me they will be ready in a snap and it's much easier than you think.
At first mix two tablespoons of instant yeast with half a cup of lukewarm water and one teaspoon of sugar. Put them in a warm place for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Mix the room temperature butter with the sugar well.
Add the eggs and vanilla to the butter and sugar mixture and mix them with a blender.
Add the instant yeast to the batter and mix them well.
Sieve the flour twice and add it to the batter and whisk it well until your dough forms perfectly.
For kneading the dough you should sprinkle some flour on an even surface. Scrape out the dough on to the surface. the dough is probably a little sticky so you have to knead it until it doesn't stick to your hands. Take the dough and beat it to the work surface, you should do this for about 50 to 100 times. The more you beat your dough, the better your dough will become. Grease a big bowl and put the dough inside it. Cover it with cellophane and let it rest for about one hour in a warm place.
After the dough doubles in size, squeeze the dough to release the air inside it. Sprinkle some flour on an even surface and flatten the dough on top of it with a rolling pin. Cut the dough with a doughnut cutter and place them on the parchment paper.
cover the doughnuts with some cotton cloth and let them rest for half an hour.
Fill the pan with oil so that your doughnuts would flout in it. Put the pan on the heat to become hot. Put the doughnuts inside the pan then you can remove the parchment paper. Flip the doughnuts so both sides are fried perfectly. At last you can take them outside the pan and put them on a towel to absorb the extra oil.
You can decorate your doughnuts with chocolate sauce, colored truffles, pistachio powder or anything you desire and then serve them.
Tips and tricks
- Pour the oil with a spoon on top of the doughnuts when you are frying them. This makes them puff better and turn golden evenly.
- If you don't let the dough rest enough, your doughnuts would crack when you fry them or they might get hard and flat. If you let them rest too much, the doughnuts would absorb too much oil inside them.. So make sure you let them rest for the right amount of time.
