How to Make Vegetable Stock

What do you do when you’ve cooked a meal and you’re left with lots of vegetable scraps?? Do you throw all of the scraps out?? Don’t do it any more, save your vegetable scraps, freeze them and reuse to make a healthy delicious vegetable stock when ever you want…

Ingredients for vegetable stock

  • 1 onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 3 celery stalks plus some leaves
  • 2 bay leafs
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste

you can use more or less type of vegetables if you want

Directions

Place all the vegetables that you like in a large pot. Cut the vegetables into smaller pieces to have a richer stock.

Add some flavor by using parsley, celery leave, bay leaf, garlic or anything you like to your stock. Place them in the pot too.

Cover the vegetables with enough water. More water makes your stock lighter and less water makes your stock more concentrated. Bring the water to a boil.

lower the heat and let it simmer for 1 to 2 hours. Season with salt and pepper.

Use a colander and strain the the vegetable stock.

Use the stock right away or cool completely and then freeze to use later.
